The last seven-day period has seen a bouncy in the contract awards sphere in the facilities management space. The week saw buyers from both public and private sector choosing their FM partners with more than 30 contracts being awarded. Bulk of the agreements were from the Hard FM bucket in the private sector while public sector procured more from the Soft FM bucket, including services like Cleaning and waste management. 

Top public sector deals included: 

• UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) awarded a £7.2 Million call-off contract to Veolia ES(UK) Limited for waste management of the NHS Shared Business Services. 
• Churchill Contract Services Ltd was appointed by Bohunt Education Trust as an FM partner to provide building cleaning services for a 3-year period through a £5.1 Million contract.
• Moat Homes Limited awarded a £3.7 Million office cleaning contract to Cleanscapes Limited for a 6-year term for cleaning services for a range of offices located in Kent, Essex and Surrey.

Private sector deals included:  

• Mace has been appointed by Manchester Airports Group (MAG) to manage the second phase of the Manchester Airport Transformation Programme (MANTP). The first phase of the £1.3bn programme has already seen Terminal 2 more than double in size. 
• Barnsdales FM Ltd has been appointed as the new facilities manager of a portfolio of warehousing sites across Nottinghamshire and South Yorkshire. The Carlton Forest Group, based in Worksop and North Nottinghamshire, appointed Barnsdales FM after a competitive tender process. 
• Premier Technical Services Group Ltd (PTSG) has secured a one-year contract with DIY retailing giant B&Q to deliver specialist Access & Safety services.  
• SPIE UK, a division of the Imtech Group, has secured a mechanical and electrical services contract with life science company, Evotec.
