There has been a flurry of contract awards in the facilities management sector over the past seven days. Buyers from the public and private sectors selected their FM partners this past week. In both the sectors, the majority of the contracts fell under the Hard FM category, with services like mechanical and electrical maintenance leading the way.

Top public sector awards : 

• Crown Commercial Services Estates Management Services framework (RM 6168), the Government Property Agency (GPA) has appointed JLL as its strategic partner for workplace services performance. The contract has been awarded for an initial three and a half years, plus up to two one-year extension options.

Top private sector awards :  

• As part of the £20 million worth multi-year deals, workplace catering firm, BM will provide a wide range of catering services including free issue food, client hospitality, fine-dining, events catering, speciality cafes, reception and AV services (via Portico, its sister company). 
• Arcus FM and building materials distributor, Travis Perkins plc, have signed a new partnership for facilities management services across the Group’s estate.
• Artic Building Services has been awarded the mechanical and electrical maintenance services contract at a prestigious international University in Central London. Artic’s maintenance processes will cover all aspects of mechanical, electrical, and air conditioning systems.
• ISS UK & Ireland has extended and expanded its facilities management contract with entertainment and telecoms firm, Virgin Media O2. The new contract also includes ISS offering operational assistance at customer properties during installations.
• Novus Property Solutions has expanded its portfolio within the healthcare sector, having been awarded a series of hospital-based contracts across the North West and Midlands.
