Weekly Update: A look at the latest changes in the Rain Contracts
New Contracts Added: 56 contracts, totaling ~£271 Million in contract value.
- Public Sector Contracts: 49 contracts (~£220 Million TCV)
- Private Sector Contracts: 7 contracts (~£51 Million TCV)
Contract Deletions: 43 contracts removed, with a total value of ~£831 Million.
- Public Sector: 40 contracts (~£800 Million TCV)
- Private Sector: 3 contracts (~£31 Million TCV)
Reasons for Deletion:
- Expired Contracts: 15 contracts (~£342 Million TCV)
- Contracts with Data Gaps: 21 contracts (~£489 Million TCV)
- Non-Relevant to FM: 7 contracts (~£1 Million TCV)
The Rain contracts database now boasts a total of 10,367 agreements, valued at ~£154.7 Billion. This includes 8,087 Public Sector contracts (~£101.2 Billion) and 2,280 Private Sector contracts (~£53.4 Billion).
Note: The database excludes waste, PFI, and framework agreements, which can be provided upon request. These additional contracts consist of 540 agreements worth ~£23.5 Billion.

Most noteworthy contract wins for this week include:
Public Sector awards:
- Ministry of Defence have awarded a contract value of £248M for the provision of Overseas Prime Contracts (Germany & Wider Europe) to Mitie (Defence) Limited. The contract starting from 25 July 2023 will end by 31 May 2034.
- NS&I has awarded a contract worth £92M to Sopra Steria for Business to Business (B2B) outsourced services. The contract will start from 20 June 2023 and will end on 30 March 2027.
- John Wright Electrical & Mechanical Services Ltd has been awarded a £12M contract with East Riding of Yorkshire Council for inspection and testing of electrical equipment in various occupied operational council properties located within the geographical boundaries of the East Riding of Yorkshire. The contract will start from 31 July 2023 and will end by 30 July 2029.
- Lewis and Graves Partnership Limited has awarded a 5year contract worth £6M to provide cleaning services for Partnership Learning Trust. The contract will start from 31 August 2023 and will end on 30 August 2028.
- A 5 year catering contract worth £5M was given by Bullers Wood Multi Academy Trust to Cucina Restaurants Ltd. starting from 31 July 2023.
- Cotham School has awarded abm catering limited for catering services worth £3M for a period of 6 years starting from 31 August 2023 till 30 August 2029.
- WESTWORKS PROCUREMENT LIMITED has given a Fire Safety Remedial works and Refurbishment of Toilet Facilities contract to Snape Contracting Services Ltd worth £2M for a period of 2 years starting from 31 July 2023.
- Compass Contract Services (UK) Ltd was awarded a cleaning contract by King’s College Trust for the Provision of cleaning services for Community Sites for a period of 3 years starting from 31 March 2023 worth £2M.
- Aspens Services Ltd has acquired a contract to provide Catering services for Fenland Group worth £2M. The 5year contract will start on 31 July 2023 and will end on 30 July 2028.
- K&T Heating Services Ltd has won a contract worth £1M with Accent Housing Ltd to deliver high quality comprehensive Heating Servicing, Repairs and Installation services to both Domestic &Commercial boilers within its South region portfolio. The contract will start from 11 June 2023 and will end on 10 June 2026.
- Scape Group Limited has awarded a new single supplier Framework Contract for repairs and maintenance across various locations within the Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire, South Yorkshire and Leicestershire areas to Pikemaster Limited. The framework will be in place for a period of 2 years, with the option to extend for 2 periods of 1 year (2 + 1 + 1 = maximum 4 years) starting from 31 July 2023 worth £1M.
Private Sector awards:
- Mitie has landed a five-year contract, worth £62 million with Phoenix Group, the UK’s largest, long-term savings and retirement business, to deliver integrated facilities management services across its estate.
- Wates has won a contract worth around £7 million over five years to deliver hard FM and compliance services across Yorkshire Building Society’s UK-wide estate.
- Sodexo has extended its existing FM deal with Clifton College in Bristol, adding cleaning and laundry services to the contract. The contract, which has a value of £5 million, includes the delivery of cleaning services including laundry and domestic services across the whole public school’s estate, including boarding houses, teaching facilities, sports centres and the college theatre.
- Events by Amadeus, the standalone event catering arm of national catering firm Amadeus, has been awarded a three-year deal with IET Birmingham: Austin Court, a historic venue in the heart of the Midlands.
- Medirest, part of Compass Group, has signed a three-year FM and catering contract with Moorfields Eye Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.

Tender Alerts for the Week
The week gone by saw a good deal of action in terms of tenders being released in the facilities management space with some large contracts on offer from the contracting authorities. The Soft services of Catering and Cleaning continued to be high in demand with Hard FM services also gaining traction. The Education sector took the lead and was at the forefront of procuring FM services. - Worthing Homes Limited has sought bids for services within occupied properties, void properties & communal areas that include:- Routine maintenance, inspection of electrical installations, emergency lighting, security systems, mechanical systems, etc. The estimated contract value is £7.62 Million and the closing date for bids is 18th Aug-23.Register Your Interest Here
- Connect Academy Trust is looking for suppliers for the provision of catering services. The duration of the contract is for an initial 3-year period commencing on 1st April 2024, with the potential to extend for a further two 12-month periods. The contract estimated at £5.9 Million will be open for bidding till 25th Aug-23. Register Your Interest Here
- The Harrow Schools Consortium consisting of 13 schools within the Harrow area require cleaning services. The agreement with an estimated contract value of £5.28 Million will run for a 3-year term from 1st Apr-24 till 31st Mar-27. The bids can be submitted on or before 21st Aug-23. - Notting Hill Genesis is looking to procure a Framework Agreement for the provisions of Electrical Safety Testing works. The services will cover EICR testing and associated remedial work, domestic and communal heat and smoke detection, emergency lighting, etc. The estimated contract value is £50 Million for an 8-year term & the bids will close by 11th Aug-23. - The Harrow Schools Consortium, through a joint procurement exercise for 12 of its affiliated schools, has invited bids for catering services within the Harrow area. This 5-year term agreement comes with an estimated contract value of £14.05 Million and will run between 1st Apr-24 to 31st Mar-29. The bids will be accepted till 19th Aug-23. - Cyngor Gwynedd Council is seeking suitably qualified organizations for the provision of Planned Building Maintenance, Repair and Minor Works. The 10-year term contract will run between 2023-33. The agreement with a contract value of £40 Million is open for bidding till 16th Aug-23. Register Your Interest Here
- Loughborough University is looking for a supplier for the provision of planned preventative and reactive maintenance of campus wide security systems including alarm monitoring system, intruder alarm system, CCTV system. - LiveWest Homes Ltd is seeking a provider to supply cleaning services to communal areas including communal lounges, community rooms, bike stores and window cleaning services including internal and external communal windows, patio doors and balconies. - Wolverhampton Homes are looking to appoint a contractor to provide a roofing repairs and maintenance services on a responsive basis as and when required to support the activities of the In-House Team by providing a fully integrated and flexible service.
